Demand Planner Job description

Primary purpose of the position:
To be responsible for generating a robust Demand Plan for specific
and/or customer categories considering market activities, sales actions,
product availability and SKU requirement to support the agreed plan.


Principle duties and responsibilities
- Ensure that the monthly forecast submission deadlines are respected
(incl AOP). Coordinate the customer strategy
accountabilities/responsibilities with the central Supply Chain team.
- Provide guidance for and generate the consensus SKU level forecast
( 18 month horizon) to ensure alignment with business direction and
consistency with market trends. Communicate consensus plans and the
assumptions behind then through the supply chain.
- Achieve continuous improvement of the accuracy of demand forecast.
Ensure that appropriate forecasting processes and methods are being
followed and updated inline with supply chain requirement. Maintain
forecast system data integrity.
- Support the local S&OP process ensuring all forecasting and demand
KPI’s as agreed with management are updated and issued correctly in a
timely manner. Review forecasting processes to further drive best
practice
- Answer for supply issue and availability queries from the sales team
and work to team all agreed SLA’s.
- Develop forecast mindedness in the business and customer base and
establish a general feeling of performance ownership from people to
their business area of responsibility
- Be responsible for supporting the central supply chain in achieving
customer service objectives, high level of product availability and OTIF
targets.
- Work to support sales through collaborative planning and ensure it is
fully integrated in sales forecasts.
- Undertake any additional tasks or duties as requested by management.
